A journalist does not apologise for having searched

April 27, 2014

I made mistakes. I write that clearly, without trying to drown it in nuance.

I trusted certain documents too quickly. I published certain links too soon that I had not cross-checked enough. I let the advance of my investigation turn into urgency and urgency is the enemy of journalism.

But I will not apologise for having searched. I refuse to let Lenk turn a clever manipulation into a certificate of innocence.
